Tapiz

For our second bodega of the day, we head to Tapiz for our 11:00 a.m. scheduled appointment. Upon pulling up to the winery, we are met by a horse drawn carriage, which takes us on a 20 minute ride through the vineyards.

Back to the Bodega!

Tapiz is one of the most technologically advanced wineries in Argentina. Mt. Plata (6100 meters) and Tupungato volcano (6800 meters), overlook the state-of-the-art winery, providing a magnificent scenic setting.

Following the invigorating horse and trap ride, we join an instructive and enlightening tour of the winery. On this tour, we participate in a comparative tasting of six wines, direct from the tanks, the barrels, as well as sampling the finished products from the bottles. In addition to the classic Tapiz line, we taste wines from their reserve Zolo line. One of the most unique and interesting wines that we end up tasting is actually a white wine, their Sauvignon Blanc. The end result: we end up purchasing a couple of bottles.
